This week, I wanted to highlight a few macro-friendly recipes I have made recently. What makes these sweet treats macro friendly, you ask? It’s the ratio of carbs, fat and protein. Most desserts and sweets typically contain a fair amount of carbs and fat and little protein. But these desserts have a healthy dose of protein, making them easier to fit into your nutrition plan if you are tracking macronutrients. Even if you aren’t tracking macros, these recipes are great options if you are looking to increase your protein while still satisfying your sweet tooth! Each of these recipes is also insanely easy with minimal ingredients.
Cinnamon sugar cake
This moist cake is the perfect fall treat. It’s topped with cinnamon-sugary goodness!
Peanut butter cauliflower oats
I know, it sounds weird. It took a while for me to get brave enough to try this. But I SWEAR: the cauliflower is completely disguised. It is used in this recipe for volume, not for flavor. This is a great dish for those creative cooks out there – you can use whatever ingredients you’d like to change the flavor profile.
Chocolate cake
Another solid, protein-forward option. This cake was pretty moist and not overly sweet. You can add more sweetener if you like!
Pumpkin chocolate chip muffins
I made these muffins most recently and OMG! If you are a pumpkin or pumpkin spice fan, you have to try these!
