Summer is around the corner, and if you’re like me, that means a lot more sweating!! 🥵 But what does that mean for your water consumption? There is a lot of conflicting info about the amount of water we should be drinking each day, so it can be hard to know exactly how to hydrate. Some swear by drinking a gallon per day and others aim to drink half their body weight in ounces. But the real answer? It depends. Yep, that’s what the experts say, basically “do what you feel.”
Unless you are doing extremely hard workouts once or twice per day or are an endurance or elite athlete, just drink when you’re thirsty. Try to drink 16 ounces of water when you wake up, 16 ounces before bedtime and also drink up before you work out. Of course, make sure to have water on hand DURING your workouts as well. I have a 32-ounce insulated water bottle I carry around with me all day and try to drink two-three per day.
